With a career spanning more than four decades, Lou Reid has established himself as one of bluegrass music's most recognizable voices. His distinctive tenor has been a cornerstone of The Seldom Scene's sound for nearly 30 years, following his initial tenure with the legendary band in the mid 1980s and his permanent return in 1997 after the passing of founding mandolinist John Duffey. Reid continues to tour and perform with the group, who released their latest album Remains to Be Scene earlier this year.
Prior to his work with the Scene, Reid's résumé includes stints with The Original Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, the Ricky Skaggs Band, and performances with country music stars Vince Gill and Vern Gosdin. He also led his own group, Lou Reid and Carolina, for more than two decades, releasing multiple acclaimed albums.To be titled That's Not The Way it Feels, Reid's upcoming album marks his first since 2019's Tracks and Trains.
